The Merit Apprenticeship Alliance, Inc. (Alliance), is a statewide consortium of over 70 quality-driven, open shop building and highway contractors who promote careers in construction and participate in NYS registered apprenticeship training programs in the Carpentry, Operating Engineer (heavy equipment) and Skilled Craft Laborer trades. The Alliance is dedicated to promoting sustainable careers in construction, providing apprentices with a comprehensive curriculum for on the job training (OJT) and related instruction (RI.) The Alliance mentors apprentices as they advance in their careers, and oversees the contractors’ compliance with Alliance policies and guidelines to ensure the success of their apprentices.

Merit Alliance Construction Training Institute (MACTI)

The Merit Alliance Construction Training Institute (MACTI) is the 501(c)3 educational affiliate of the Merit Apprenticeship Alliance, Inc. It was established to provide industry and apprenticeship-related instruction and safety training programs to DOL-registered apprentices, journey workers and craft trainees. MACTI is approved by the New York State Departments of Labor and Education, and the USDOL, as a provider of apprentice classroom instruction. MACTI is accredited by the National Center for Construction, Education & Research (NCCER).
